| In addition to the independent study courses, the Ph.D. student must write a 15-unit dissertation as a capstone project. This project must be of sufficient depth and demonstration of personal learning and professional acumen as to clearly reflect real proficiency in the esoteric area of interest. In consultation with an Academic Advisor, the student will identify the area of interest, write a dissertation proposal, compile a bibliography of reading material and develop a plan of completion. At the conclusion of the project, the student will submit the dissertation and then defend it before the faculty. |
